BE STILL, AND REST: SIT SPOT CHALLENGE

Updated: Jan 11

I step out into my back yard and greet the nature in my back yard with a loving,

"Hello, I am here to connect with you today."

I leave my daily worries behind, clearing my mind and focus my intention on connecting with nature, and my inner wisdom.

I spread my blanket out at my dedicated sit spot, a safe area in the grass where I can view God's beauty all around me.

Slipping off my shoes and socks I sit, my feet connecting to ground into the grass.

My senses came alive.

I felt the warmth of the sun on my skin, along with the cool breeze of the autumn air.

I heard the nearby birds chirping, and their wings flapping overhead as they flew to the nearby bird feeder. The squirrels were scampering up the trees and rustling in the fallen leaves, scurrying away to hide their nuts for the coming winter. I heard a blower in the distance cleaning up fallen leaves.

I smelled the scent of fallen leaves while the crisp clean air traveled into my lungs.

I saw a beetle walking in the grass, trying to climb over a leaf where he fell a multitude of times but finally succeeding on his journey.

Being in this grounded present state, consciously connected to nature, I heard my inner wisdom speak "Be still, and rest."

I feel at ease in my body, mind, and soul.

Over the last few months I have felt the pull to connect more and more with nature, deepening my connection.

One of my favorite ways to connect with nature is my daily sit spot practice.

These are some of the things I have noticed:

  • Physical, emotional, and energetic rest

  • Improvement in my mental clarity

  • An inner peace, a calmness that grew into an expansive, and curious mindset

  • Reduced feelings of stress

  • Improved energy

  • A more restful sleep

I had no idea that this simple sit spot practice would have such powerful effect, but it did.

I hope it will for you too.

I invite you to join me for a 30 day sit spot challenge.

Learn more below, and join.

I can't wait to hear your sit spot story and how it has changed your life.

In loving kindness,

Gayle
